Well. That’s my first 5 minute run complete. Feel good but I’m definitely going to get good running shoes. Can anyone recommend any? Thanks

I can't remember how I chose my first pair but I went with Brooks and ordered from their website. Never heard of them before. I didn't have them properly fitted in a shop or anything but they seem to be doing the job - no blisters, comfy, no shin splints, etc.

Dear Joanna-pink

Congrats and welcome to week 4 :-).

Good running shoes (in my opinion) are absolute necessary for your health. I went in a runners shop and got an excellent consultation / advice. They made an analyse of my feet on a glass pane, then I had to run barefoot on a treadmill and he filmed it. Aswell they made a anamnese of my health, experiences, shoes I already had etc.

I can't recommend you my shoes (even when they are perfect for me), because it depends on a lot of things, which shoes are perfect for you (f.ex. your weight , how you run, and so on). Anyway, I am happy with my Saucony formfit everun. Some years ago, I broke my foot and with these shoes I can run even with my overweight and have no pain.

So what I would suggest is to have a look for a good runners shop...

Mine cost the hell of money, but now it is the end of season and they are half price and I will buy an other pair...

Good luck for you to find the perfect shoe for you...

P.

Thanks I’m going to look around and see what is best. I do have a tendency to run on the side of my foot which sounds weird but I can’t seem to correct. So maybe some expert advise would be good x

I agree. Gait analysis first.

Definitely recommend going to a runners shop. They will do gait analysis and then pick out some that will best suit you. Mine cost over Β£100, but I can honestly say they are worth every penny. I also wear 1000mile socks, which prevent blisters. πŸ‘

Before I started C25K i made sure i checked out for good running shoes. Ended up going for Brooks, they have a gait test online. Got their recommended Revel2 that were also in the sale! 😁 Best shoes ever!! I have long narrow almost flat feet with low arches and need a lot of cushioning so my soles don’t hurt, but they have given great support and are sooo comfortable, even after a run or wearing them all day. Look pretty good too 😊

I got a pair of Nike Pegasus from our local outlet and love β€˜em! Congrats on your first 5 minutes, it’s a fantastic milestone and shows you’re making real progress πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

I must admit I’m very surprised that I did it! Never been a natural runner so it’s not easy when ur 5 2” but I ran and was not out of breath! I’m actually looking forward to see if I can do it again!
