Just Completed 2nd run of 3 in week 1

Will do last run of week either Saturday or Sunday

Surprising myself at how I’m keeping going for 30 mins! Feeling good about myself at the moment 😀

Still not finding it easy though so my question is - should I repeat week 1 runs next week so that I get more used to it before I push myself in week 2 ?

I don’t want to end up becoming disillusioned and put off if week 2 becomes too difficult - I’d rather build it up at a steady pace I am comfortable with

Suggestions and comments welcome

You can repeat wk1 of you really want to but I'm sure you're more than ready for wk2. You may be finding it a bit tough as we all did but if it was easy you wouldn't feel the same accomplishment. You can do this 😊😊

I was just thinking that myself 🤔 as I'm at exactly the same point as you and well done

You’re doing great out there. Repeating is your choice... personally I started the journey set in the knowledge that I could meet a run I was incapable of finishing and then I’d be working on that run until its butt was kicked. The step up from the couch to run one is by far the biggest you’ll ever take on your running journey... be very proud of beating that. Enjoy closing the week out and next week’s running, whichever “week” that is.

Totally up to you. This is not a race. It’s a journey. You have agreed to end up running for thirty minutes, which may or may not be 5K at the end of this. That is where you want to end up. But where did you start from? If carrying a bit too much weight, smoke, drink too much, not run for years, sounds familiar to you. It may take you a little longer than the skinny bloke who can already happily run for a bus without breathing heavily.

If this was easy, it would not be worth doing, would it? Will you struggle on your next set of walks and runs? Would it be fair to then go to W2?

It took you a long time to get in this state. It may take a while to sort it out. We are all different. Could you cope with a hard W2 too? Or would you feel happier repeating W1, now you know what to expect? Being just that bit more prepared? Perhaps even fitter? When you start W2 with a bit more confidence? The only person counting is you. You are the only person ticking off runs. When you, very soon, write in here “ that’s week 6 done!”, you are the only person who knows if took 6, 8 or even more weeks to get there.

We’ll all reply “oh! Well Done for getting there”. We’ll know how far you got. Only you will know how well you did to get there!

The hardest part is done. You started! The rest will be a hard struggle. They are long minutes and there are a lot of them. Will you cope with it?

Go and read FAQ POSTS there are articles there that will help with a lot of the questions now and later on the journey.

Then decide! And again. Only you know! Just enjoy doing it!
