Well I couldn’t resist and went and did it very slowly, but by the time I got to the cool down, my ankle/top of foot was hurting, and now it’s painful. Doing RICE, feeling sad, trying to be philosophical. Self-diagnosed as extensor tendinitis.

You will probably need to not run for 1-2 weeks. Give your ankle a good rest and take it from there. If it persists a trip to the doctor maybe better. Good luck 😊

Thank you for your reply, it’s hard to be sensible! I’m trying to see the big picture - I’ve come a long way already and it’ll still be there.

I understand why you want to keep going but if you continue your ankle will only get worse . Hope you get it sorted soon 😊

Awww, I hope you get it properly rested and looked after. You really will get back in the groove again (I was going to do my own post about how I'm not run for a week cos I have a cold and feel sorry for myself, but hey.. )

To be honest, I’d never have believed a few weeks ago that I’d so gutted not to be running! So I have to take that as a positive. Hope your cold is sooooon better!

So sorry to hear this but you’ve come so far, all the progress you’ve made won’t disappear overnight. Most importantly, you’ve discovered how much you love running. That enthusiasm will still be there when you’ve recovered and will speed you on. Trip to doc to confirm self-diagnosis perhaps? Rest up. Your running buddies will be waiting for your return. Xx

Thank you for the support 😊 I think I’ll give it a week or so and if not better, I’ll make an appointment with a physio. I’ll keep looking at the forum to keep myself going!

Thank you! I’m still gobsmacked by how cross I feel that I can’t run! Never in a million years thought I’d ever feel like that 😄 Glad you’re all sorted 👍🏻 I’m trying to learn patience 🙄😆
