So I’ve just got back from my very first run; and I’m feeling great about it!
Just as I began my first 60s run, I passed a dog walker who rolled her eyes and shook her head at me. That almost made me turn back right then and there; but I carried on and only paused once, just before the cool down walk.
I done much better than I thought I would have!

Brilliant - well done on your first run! Ignore the silly woman. Your embarking on an amazing journey - you’ll be staggered at what you can achieve. Just take it nice and slow (your brisk walk can be faster than your run!) and plenty of water on rest days and run days. Trust the programme and post here with any questions or triumphs! x
Thanks everyone, it’s nice to hear (read?) words of support!
Two babies in five years (the youngest being 9months old) combined with poor diet and no exercise has left me very overweight and unfit. So reading your messages is very encouraging! Run 2 on Thursday! X
That’s a brilliant start! Speaking as a dog walker who used to look sadly at runners when I thought I couldn’t do it myself, she was probably shaking her head at herself for being less amazing than you. You’re doing great - be proud!
