I'm really struggling this week. I was so pleased when I finished last week completing 20 min run. This week is the first time I really wanted to stop as I was struggling so much! Anyone been the same and any advise would be greatly appreciated ππββοΈπ€Im due to do the 25 min run today and am so worried I won't be able to complete it π°
W6r3 advise please.. : I'm really struggling... - Couch to 5K
W6r3 advise please..
Lots of people find W6 hard, donβt worry. You have followed the plan, and you are ready to do this. So much of the plan is about building confidence in your own ability. You did the 20 minute run, you have done some more training, now you can do 25 mins. Just settle into a slow and steady pace, relax and try and enjoy it. Youβve got this π
Don't worry a lot of people struggle with the two interval runs of wk6. As today's run is 25 minutes with no walking breaks I'm sure you'll find it a lot better . Good luck π
Just take it really slowly and youβll be fine. Completing the run is the thing - pace and distance are unimportant at this stage.
And if you like running slowly hereβs the short film of the Japanese slow jogging technique. Itβs low impact and designed to avoid injury. I first saw this in w6 and still run this way because I love it!

If youβre interested watch a few times to catch it all - the landing and short stride are key.
Week 6 is really hard I think a lot of us experience a little slow down with it so you are not alone. Maybe do it twice if this is what is required to get through it. No pressure, do what works for you.
Well done, you did it.
If you struggle at any time, just slow down.
Make sure you are running at an easy conversational pace, as described in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and this link healthunlocked.com/couchto5... in respect of mental approach may be helpful.
You can do this if you just slow down.........or you can make it hard for yourself.
You can definitely do this. Stop worrying, be positive. This is important because you need to set out with a positive mindset. Just remember the plan works, every run and every week prepares you for the next. Good luck and enjoy your running
Thank you π your absolutely right! I got this positivity!! πππ€£πββοΈπ
I struggled with W6 runs 1&2 too but honestly found R3 much better. I donβt understand the science but Iβm sure that the stopping and starting is harder than just keeping on running - slowly, slowly. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Thank you, I am sure your right. I struggle too with the stopping and starting this week after the 20min run last week! Well Iβve actually done the 25min non stop tonight I honestly canβt believe it! I took the advise of others and went so slow... π but I completed it without needing any assistance π€£π€£ Iβm so pleased and amazed by every week how we just do it .... truly so happy ππββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ thank you for the advise ππ
Ah... The jubilation of W5/R3 and Week 6 bringing you back down to earth. My advice.. week 6 is a week where you should just step back and start appreciating how far you've come. It's a difficult week, but look at what you've achieved!
If you don't finish a run, if you do 20 minutes even 15 minutes instead of 25.. just smile, understand that you're improving with every training session and try again. If you're struggling slow down. Relax!
You've already won, these last weeks are your victory laps.. enjoy them. π€
Thank you for the positivity!!!π your absolutely spot on!! I think we do forget how far we have comeπββοΈπββοΈ Well I am overjoyed I did slow down and I've completed the run πββοΈπββοΈπππ so happy right now !!
