What can I say?.....I need to get fit and lead a healthier lifestyle. I’m maxed out on Type 2 Diabetic medication and the threat of insulin now is the next stage and very real.

I’m scared stiff!! 😬.....I need to get on to Couch to 5K fast and build this into my routine. At 5ft 9”, 15st 7lbs and approaching 50 years old, I know I need to lose wait. Never thought I’d find myself in this position, as used to be as skinny as a rake and very fit and active when I was younger. Feeling very apprehensive about breaking into my first stride after many years of inactivity. Wish me luck!

Do it! The C25k is an amazing programme and totally doable. You'll get lots of support and encouragement on this forum. Now get those trainers out, take a deep breath and get out of the door! Good luck.

C25k is an amazing plan and really does work you'll get lots of encouragement and support on here. You can eventually lose weight doing c25k but you have to be mindful of what you are eating. Once you are doing the longer runs 3 times a week you will see a difference in your fitness and overall health . For me I use an app on my phone and type in everything I eat and it's helped. Good luck 😊

Good luck! Somehow my HbA1c dropped at my last blood test - I put it down to this C25K programme. I hope the same happens for you.

Hi. Welcome and well done for even thinking about getting started. I was worried about starting this program so I decided to walk for about 30mins a day, when I started feeling ok and well I had a sort of spring in my step I knew I was ready to start. I think I have had my first running high today I’m on week 3 run 1 and loved it. Just keep going listen to your body but don’t give up. Doing something positive is very empowering. Good luckπŸ˜„πŸ‘πŸΌ
