Hi I’m a 44 year old mum of three, now reassessing my priorities and trying to get my body into something that resembles its intended format. Haven’t ever been a runner, was ok at short bursts as a youngster so here goes..........did my first run on Wednesday.

Good luck!

I am also 44 and Just nearing the end of Week 5, loving finding out how quickly my body can adapt and get stronger each week.

How was your first run?

I have to be honest, I only managed 3 of the 8 runs but I did it again next day and managed all 8 with reduced times of 30 seconds. Next one tomorrow- on the funny side had to contend with trousers falling down too on my first run so new trousers with waist ties bought and much better 😂

Keep going, it’ll get easier 😁

And make sure you wear nice knickers on your next run , just in case 🤣

Hi Cocktail22! I’m the same as you but add on 11 years. Was a bit of a sprinter in my youth but there has been a lot of life lived since then!!

I too had a trouser problem but sorted that by wearing a pair of my daughters in a smaller size!!

I’m gearing myself up for W2R2 tomorrow morning. Can’t say I’m looking forward to it but I’m determined to keep trying.

Good luck with the rest of the program! I’ve already learned that I’ve had to slow down my ‘running’. It made my chest heaving much easier and I could even manage to say a few words on the walking bits!!

Keep going Cocktail22! Loving the name btw!🍹

Welcome and congratulations on making that step from thinking to doing. You’re in for a great time, and you’ll keep up with the kids pretty soon.

Stick at it. Remember that you can't run too slowly. As you jog along the test is whether you could hold a conversation (I say 'one, two, three' to check). If you're out of breath then you're going too fast and should slow down. The program gets better the further you get into it. Good luck keeping your trousers up! :)
