Consolidating Quicker

I love living where I do. It’s a quiet, peaceful village and I enjoy being able to walk in woods and fields without going somewhere in the car first. But since starting running, I am ever so aware of just how hilly it is! My husband maintains that “hills are my friends” in training terms but I like to think of them as forever friends - I know they’ll always be there for me so instead I am courting more casual acquaintances- flirting with new running routes that are are flat as possible. There were some slopes this morning and another stretch of cross country but I am sure that’s why I managed my longest run ( by 1.47 minutes but hey it all counts) and in my best time. Happy running whether uphill or down!

I learned to run in flat as a pancake country! But have gradually learned to do some hills - always nice and slow!

Maybe I should move?🤔🙂 Certainly makes a difference running on a generally flat road....

Right with you on this - terrain makes such a difference. I have a new route with some tarmac lanes as well as usual field tracks & paths. Even with hills, it’s faster - tho’ I do manage to have the long, long slope on a down instead of up! Not completely crazy! 😄
