W8R1 - so close!

Argh! I ran 23' and stopped, only had 5' to go but I was really hot, my throat was dry - it's not even that my legs were sore as they were fine but on this occasion, my mind took over and not for the best.

I will try again tomorrow, not beating myself up too much, I have come a long way and it is a minor set back. Funnily I managed 3 PR on this failed run!

Well done on 23 minutes! Bet you couldn't have done that a couple of months ago? Maybe think about giving yourself a rest day? Really shouldn't run on consecutive days, that's the golden rule 🙂

Thank you! no I couldn't have done this a month ago indeed!

Running 23 is still fabulous! Just treat it as a practice run. It’s still very warm and I take my hat off to anyone who runs in the heat. Maybe consider having a rest day, hydrating well and getting back out in a day or two running slow and steady. Good luck! X

Thank you! I have to say I really can't wait for september when the temperatures drop significantly. My Common has long stretches with no shade and I really dont enjoy the heat!

Crikey I know 🥵! Much as I love the sun, give me a cold and crisp, overcast morning every time to run in. Best of luck next time x

breathe, rest and go again the day after tomorrow, make sure you hydrate tomorrow too

maybe take a small amount of water with you if it's still as hot?

I might do that as I was really thirsty

Great effort... maybe too great if you scored some PBs... slow it a little and you’ll be fine. We all get these runs... the next one will be smoother.

Thank you very much. I am still happy with what I did and trying not to beat myself up

I did exactly the same thing yesterday had to stop around 21 mins as was so hot, I felt fine week 7 runs so bit disappointed on yesterday’s run but will keep going 🙃 never thought I would want weather to cool down 😳🤪 anyway well done we have come so far 👍👍👍

yes, well done as 21 minutes is really awesome and with the heat comes the humidity which is not helping. I dont know about you but I also found that I accepted gracefully that I hadn't completed the run and I didn't have negative thoughts etc, which I think is another benefit of the training, as it helps with your outlook. I keep saying to myself 'it's not a sprint it is a marathon' - trying to keep my eyes on the prize

Well done. Ttemendous you're doing great!! Im just about to start week 9. Did my last week 8 run yesterday. I must admit i felt sore after it. Definately need the days rest inbetween which i didn't have. Although i made it, i was sore and spent. You did the right thing to stop and do it again. Take some small sips of water whilst you run, particularly if its warm, it does really help. You're almost at the end. Keep going!

Just think how far you've came since week 1 you've done amazing . Have a rest day tomorrow then try again . You can do it 😊

Slow down. If you increase your pace even a little it can have quite an impact. ( Three PRs?).

Likewise just a little slower makes life a lot easier.

I thought I was going slow but I was wrong given the PR :) I can't wait to try again as I was quite close! Thank you for the support

I tried my first w8 run 1 this morning and also couldn’t complete it. I managed 21 mins. Must have been something in the air 😊. I’ll try again on Tuesday.

I've done W8R2 this morning, I find it so much easier at 5am when it's a lot cooler, I love the rain too! Good luck, keep going.👍

Always remember the First Rule of C25k: The only run you fail is the run you don’t go for ! Keep up the fluids and smash it next time x

What they all say, Muriel! Rest, fluids, make friends with your inner 🐌🐌🐌 I try to dodge the heat and the direct sun when I can, and I take water in this weather. You're doing just fine😊
