So after my post about 2 weeks ago, I still haven't managed to do my last 2 runs. I can't even remember when my last run was (will need to check app). On Monday last week, when I left work, we had a call to say my father in law was critically ill in intensive care in Scotland. Cue quick dash across the country! Didn't have time to to pack my trainers (or even think about it really). I got back on Sunday and been busy sorting out the mess we left in the house. I will perhaps try to go tomorrow night but really doubtful I will be able to do W9D2 without stopping. I'll give it a good go though! Heading back up to Scotland Friday night until Sunday so don't think I will be able to fit a run in again.
Roll on light evenings please!

Sorry to hear your bad news. You've probably thought about this already, but if you can't do the run you'e up to, maybe you could go back a week or two and just get through one you know is managable - better than nothing? I did that after I'd been ill for a bit and it was a good tonic to help me feel like I was still doing something, however little. Best of luck with everything.
Good thinking! You might be surprised. You might also be surprised by being able to fit a run in and find it helpful with the rest of your life.... which I hope will get easier than it is at the moment....
I'm now debating just getting up early in the morning and do it. I just find my bed too warm in the mornings That way it will be getting light and no-one will be around, I can do my favourite route along the river if it's lighter too.
Sorry to hear about your F-i-L. Hope there is better news now.
I would give the 30 mins a try. I think it is always surprising that your fitness doesn't just disappear over night. Take it steady and hopefully you will be fine :0)
Having been through a similar situation myself recently, I would say just go for it anyway. I didn't run for a whole week last week, and then my next run felt fabulous! I think the body just loves a rest (even through what I was living through with my dad didn't involve any rest ... or sleep in fact!).
It's tough when life smacks you in the face and you're forced to face difficult times. These things are sent to try us. However, you need some YOU time in all of this. So get out there and get those last two runs done. You didn't come this far to kick it all into the long grass! Once you're out there you'll enjoy it. It gives you much-needed head space and time to think. It's all very well putting everyone else first but you have your own health too, so don't feel guilty about keeping a bit of time back for yourself
I hope that things get better for you very soon. Take care!
Unfortunately I still haven't managed to complete it.. I'm really struggling with the dark nights and heading out. I did a Santa run on Sunday and managed around 2.5km before having to stop so I've definitely gone backwards in my fitness I don't need a good excuse to not go out, I'll always take the most ridiculous excuse and use it to not go out for a run but I just don't feel particularly safe especially as I don't know the area we live in that well. Not sure what to do...
