Congratulations on completing your 5K run, don't worry about that time, as long as you enjoyed it, that was the main thing. 😊 🏃

Doesn't matter how long it took the great thing is you ran 5k . When you think back to wk1, look how far you've came 😊😊

Yes good point, come a very long way!!!

I did enjoy it but when I read people finish in 30 minutes ....😏

Don't compare yourself to other people, I know when you read posts about 5k in 30 minutes or under you wish that was you. I've only done it once but that's ok the point is we are out and running. A lot more than people still on the couch 😊😊

Very true yes we are!! Thank you. I'm determined to keep going too so hopefully it will improve.

Once I'm nearer 35 I might brave a parkrun...for now I will plod on in private slowly slowly!!

I can run 10k but still ran a 5k in 45 mins on Thursday...my best is 40 mins 45 seconds. But we still ran 5k and that's what counts.

Wow 10k now that's inspirational and good to know your times are realistically achievable for me... could I double the distance though 😁?? One day I hope so

Took me 90 mins...but yes, you can ! I followed juju's 10k plan over on the bridge to 10k forum

I graduated at end of June and still just manage 4k in your time for 5k so not so snail-y🐌 as you think 🤔

Great job and congratulations on that 5k. Don’t knock the pace... I’d have been more than happy with an hour plus for my first one, it’s a very respectable time for someone who’s been running a couple of months.

Don't worry about the time. And it should not hold you back from the parkrun.

You would probably improve there.

Are you following a program? C25K+?

Oncefit profile image
OncefitGraduate

No not yet I just thought I would try run 3 times a week for 30 mins for a while...do you have a program to follow post C25K?

I have been enjoying running without music but I also thought I might try the consolidation podcasts with Laura.

Amazing! I hope I get to that sometime, but I did 4k and I'm pretty happy with that. I figure I might try 5k by end of August though
