Week 6 R1 OMG

After the elation of actually running 20 minutes non stop this run was a disaster for me. I couldn’t complete it. Not sure if I set off too fast or was a bit too confident but not even half way into the 8 min section I just couldn’t carry on. I’m really trying to not let it dent my new found enjoyment of running but for the first time in ages not looking forward to going out again 😥

Big hugs I’m dreading getting to that stage but am sure it will come. Don’t you think some days are easier than others?

I am sure you will crack it next time.

Just relax.... take it steady and slow.... Rest up with plenty of stretches etc and then head out for this run again...Just relax, take it really gently and know that you will do it:)

Believe in yourself and you are halfway there:)

Hey Sparkey. Awesome work getting to this point. Take a little break and have another go 😎 maybe slow yourself down a touch 🤪

We all have yucky runs - don’t let it get to you. And that one catches out lots of folks. We think running continuously is harder, but actually interval training is hard! W6 is pushing you on again. So take a rest day, hydrate well, run slowly, and move on. You will do it! 👍

Hi Sparkey well done for getting to week 6! That first run catches a lot of people out with going back to intervals. It feels hard to stop and start again after running for 20 minutes, but I think it's about finding your pace. The intervals will make you a stronger runner, but they do feel hard. Oldfloss is right, when you go out again try it slower. There's no rush. You can definitely do this and then you'll be running 25 minutes!

Don’t look at it as a disaster. You may not have hit all your objectives, but you did pull on your kit and go for a run 👍. You have now experienced a poor run, and can build from that experience. Some runs are harder than others and it can be difficult to predict. The important thing is to put it behind you and move on. Rest for a day or two, make sure you hydrate well and take it slow and steady. You have this 😀

Don't know why but this run seems to cause a few problems for people . Have a rest day go out and try again and go slow . You can do this 😊😊

I think it's normal and it happens to us all - you are not the problem! Carry on! funny how the week 6 run 1 catches everyone.
