Well, just as the title says, it was awful. I couldn’t even finish the first 5 minute run! Legs were like lead and so sore. Going to repeat it again on Monday and hope for a better effort. After the euphoria of running for 20 minutes I am gutted I couldn’t manage this run 😥
Disaster - week 6 run 1: Well, just as the title... - Couch to 5K
Disaster - week 6 run 1
It doesn’t always work out - good that your still motivated 👍
Hey we all have those runs, put it in the forget it pile, and next time out don't dwell on it, and you'll be just fine 👍
It’s not a disaster. Promise. This run is notoriously difficult after the buzz of W5.
Press the reset button. Have a rest and go steady. You can do this and all your VRBs are willing you on 🤗
Great advice from above posters. We all have days where it doesn’t quite click.
This may not be the case, but I wonder if you either didn’t warm up enough or if you set off a little too fast ?
Your attitude is spot on, pit today down to experience and move on without dwelling on it.
Set off nice and slow on Tuesday, and keep it steady. I usually find it takes me about 10 mins to get in to a nice rhythm.
Good luck, I’m sure you’ll smash it 🏃♂️🏃♀️👍
Let us all know how you get on.
Don’t stress about it too much. It happens. I wonder are you stretching before and after your runs? I found it made a big difference when I first began running. Especially right after a run, followed by a hot shower. Seems to make the next outing easier. Give yourself a rest and try again. You’ll be fine. Also when you are maxing out, it does hurt, as your muscles and bones are discovering new thresholds. It gets easier with time as they build and grow to take on the load. And you likely know this already but rest days are critical in these early stages. That is when much of the repair work takes place.
We show our strength when we get up after a fall. Keep going, we have all done fabulously to get this far x
You will. Don’t despair. Just repeat and it will happen x
As above.. it happens. You can run 20... you know that, so don’t dwell on this... rest well and know the next run will be much smoother.
