Thanks to everyone on here who made me feel better after I couldn't complete W7R3. I went back out and did it on Wednesday and then promptly failed yesterday to finish W8R1, but I felt okay about it. I managed about 10 minutes before my calves were so tight I couldn't carry on. I did start again for about 6 minutes in the middle, but I struggled up the hill just walking home, I may have made a mistake reversing the route, and going out straight from a morning of work, without lunch. It was also really warm so I had my top round my waist from the end of the warm-up walk, which is really annoying. I'll try again tomorrow with fewer layers, after breakfast, and in the same direction as Wednesday.
Thank you everyone on here I really could not do it without you

Ive had three runs that didnt make the full time. All have happened when Ive either gone at the wrong time of day, or when Ive eaten too close to running, or when I was tired and probably needed an extra rest day. Im sure we will reach a stage of fitness where this doesnt happen, but it’s early days yet.
Well done for being prosaic about it. Each time it’s happened to me, the next run is fine xx
A few of the expert runners on here swear by foam rollers for tight calves. You can get them fairly cheap on Amazon - or use a rolling pin? Google for instructions on how to do it correctly.
So many things can make for a harder run. Being hungry can be a huge issue! At least you have identified potential issues - that's good! Hope tomorrow brings you a fair more enjoyable run! Don't be disheartened; be determined!
