You will never be last at a parkrun Sp81, the tailwalker will be last, anyway the person who is second last gets a big applause from everyone at the finishing line. 😊 🏃

Hopefully the weather will be better for you this week Almorr. Are you going to try Parkrun again this Saturday?

No parkrun for me this week Sp81 as there is a event taking place in the park, however, I ran a 6K yesterday, I will run a short 3k on Wednesday, probably run 3 of week 5 of C25K then on Saturday I will try to run a 7K locally to make up for not running the parkrun. I am slowly increasing my distance to see how far I can run using my metromone app at around 162 beats a minute, the 6K run yesterday was completed according to Mapmyrun in 44.25 with the 5K split being 36.41.

Wow, you’re doing amazing. I’m going to try and brave the slightly longer runs this week. 5k is the farthest so far. Would be nice to see if I can go a bit farther. Self belief I guess! How do you get on using the metronome? Does it help with pace? I’ve a bad habit of starting off to fast.

I do think it does help me with pace, however, it's all to do with stride, if you take longer strides per step for the run you will get a quicker time, if you are taking shorter steps, then your time will be shorter, I do try to be pretty even with the pace and strides, my average pace yesterday using the app at 162 was 7.25 km with splits of 7.30, 7.10, 7.13, 7.33, 7.11 and 7.46. If I hadn't used the metromone app the splits would probably have varied from 6 something to 8 something, so I do think it does help a bit with pace, in fact yesterday I thought I was going to slow at the start but by the end I was glad that I wasn't going any faster, the last kilometer as you see was a little slower than kilometer 2 and 5.

By the way although I can have Mapmyrun and the metromone app on at the same time, I have found out that it won't play Spotify or the radio while ticking away.

Thank you I will definitely give it a try.

I’m willing to try anything that can help my running. I’m hoping if I can regulate my pace from the start it will support the longer distance.

It's Metronome Beats, I got it from the Android app store.

Love this T-shirt!! Someone at parkrun was wearing it this weekend. Speed or lack of it doesn’t count, it really is “taking part”👍🏻

Yes I agree. Number 5 for me this week, my Saturday mornings will be missing lie ins from now on I think.

Hey SP81 - was so sure there would be LOADS of people behind me, but there really weren’t. 😳. Horrifying but that’s life, huh?! 🙄
