Graduated. Now to run alone

I started this great program on 9th May and graduated on 27th July! I am very pleased with myself, as when I started I couldn't 100% guarantee I would stick to it. I just had to remind myself why I started in the first place. There are still days when I look at my schedule, see it's a run day and think "do I have too!?" But once I'm out there doing it, I'm loving it!! Especially with Laura assisting along the way...which sadly, I won't have anymore :'(

Plan now is to do Parkrun as much as possible. Done 2 already and love it. My consolidation runs and then start to step-it up and reach 10K. After that....who knows!?

Happy running peeps !!

Well done mate! I’m a week in so far.

Looking forward to getting to where I can do park runs at a decent pace!

Great stuff and well done!! As for running alone, well you can go back to Laura for old time’s sake: Week 9 is good for consolidation runs, Weeks 1&2 for run-jog, and the famous 5:3 for speed practice.

This is excellent advice to keep in mind once I get there. 😀

Well done! Glad to hear you are loving the runs. I started in May too, and graduated in July like you. Did my third consolidation run yesterday morning, but hated it from start to finish. I've just had a week off as I was away, and I've never had more than a max of two rest days prior to that. I'm going to finish the consolidation runs and then see. I'm impressed by your motivation and plans. Have fun!

I found it hard to keep going during consolidation and found the runs harder than W9 r3 even though I was only doing the same thing.

Until my 9th consolidation run, which was the best run I've had up to date lol

I felt better once I got onto the 10k running plan on the Bridge to 10k forum. I like the structure around a running plan :D

I think the consolidation runs feel like a chore. I'm hoping that by the end of them, I'll be closer to 5k in 30mins. That's what will keep me going... I hope!

That's good to hear. Thank you. I thought it was just me. I have really like the structure of 5K, but know I couldn't do 10k. Have tried Zombies, Run! but that wasn't enough for me. I will persevere through the next 6 consolidations and hope I find it easier by the 9th run. It's reassuring I'm not the only one!

Thank you. I had a week off between the last 2 runs. Wasn't the plan, but I found it very beneficial. The little niggles I had were gone and I felt a lot better while running. Good luck with the consolidation runs and as you say, have fun!

Thank you. I really felt the better of the week off, but have found the little niggles (good description - nothing major) have returned. Maybe I can run them off!

Congratulations! I find music a good substitute for someone talking. Some people listen to talking books, others, any old podcasts. Happy running!

I couldn't run without music. It distracts me from my inner voice, telling me to stop 🙂

Congratulations!!!🎉

There is nothing to stop you still running with Laura for your consolidation runs!!😎

I have just graduated and am planning to run with each of the different trainers in the app - went out with Sarah Millican on Friday! 🏃‍♀️

Yes, think I'll use Laura for the consolidation runs. Don't think I could deal with Sarah Millican though 😅
