So did my first run today. I have very bad feet so they hurt but feel great that I’ve started. Cannot wait to see changes

Well done on that first run! I can have sore feet too due to tendons complaining. I can recommend using a tea towel and ice pack. It helps a lot. Good luck with the programme. A year later I am still running 😊

Thank you I’ll give that a try! Just found blisters already too 😂 feet are terrible. Oh that’s where I aim to be, I love running just obviously can’t do it for long

Also some good well fitting shoes! And wee cheap running socks are very helpful. Stop those damp feet!

My shoes are okay for now I think my feet are just annoying 😂 sport socks I will definitely invest in thank you!

What sort of pain/symptoms do you have in your feet?

I have hyper mobility which means I can hurt my ankles very easily and broke my ankle and leg a few years back and still have the metal plate in so can be quite painful at times. I have inner soles as I have flat feet too and only wear sketchers as trainers 😂

Given your condition Emolie, I strongly suggest you chat to your physio or doctor about doing Couch25K; I absolutely applaud your objective, but you MUST be careful. Getting into the correct running trainers with built in supports designed for your feet could be key to success, so gait anaylis and some professional medical advice would be a very good idea.

Meanwhile run slowly - it's the best way to strengthen everything, feet, legs core... the whole caboodle! Take care of those feet ... and enjoy your journey. x

Thank you! My doctors have never said to not go for runs, they’ve actually told me to do it. Obviously not hard runs and there’s a reason I’m starting on week 1, need to build up my leg muscles anyway 😂 but of course I will be careful and am going shopping for trainers tomorrow. If my ankles become too aggravated by it I will stop and consult my gp but for now I want to smash it. Working on my diet too will help also 🤞🏼 fingers crossed it’s as helpful as I want it to be x

Well done on getting started!

Please do read the guide to the programme healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

It's full route of great information.

Maybe consider some foot stretches to help your feet or even insoles, certainly good shoes are incredibly important.

Most of all, enjoy your journey! 👍🏻😁

Perfect thank you! Yeah stretching is probably a big part of it right now and I need to invest in new trainers anyway. Thank you
