After a week on holiday and no running I was a bit nervous about getting back on track, but no worries in the end about not having run for a week - possibly think it might have done me some good as I tackled my first ParkRun yesterday, smashed the 30 minutes of running for W9R1, had a little micro-walk, then ran the final bit to the finish line and was delighted at my 37.52 time!
Can’t believe I was under 40 minutes (the unofficial ‘target’ I had in my head) and am really pleased to have taken the plunge into ParkRun. Definitely doing that again and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone with any doubts. There’s a complete mix of people and abilities with plenty of walkers too.
That graduation cap is within sight!

Not long now until you graduate, congratulations on starting with your first 5k Parkrun yesterday, good time too for a under graduate, good luck for your graduation run 🏃 😊
Thanks very much. I see you ventured out for your first parkrun too - well done. I was being a Parkrun tourist yesterday and I perhaps got it easy as the course was pretty flat - it will be trickier when I try my nearest one at home as I’m sure it’s on a hill. All a good challenge though!
Yes NewRunner4 I ran my first parkrun yesterday, enjoyed it especially as it was the parkruns fourth birthday and we all had a piece of birthday 🎂 cake on the finishing line after the last person, not me, competed the run. 🏃 😊
