Feeling very smug and virtuous at being out on the road at 06:35. It was a beautiful sunny morning and not too many c*rs to impede progress.
Repeated the same route as w8r1 and Strava told me I was "trending faster" so yay!
Couldn't help but smile at Laura's instructions half way through:
"You are now half way through so you may want to consider increasing your pace, but remember that at the end of the day it's distance and not speed that matters".
Yeah - I kind of know what she means - doesn't want you to peg out or walk through trying to go too fast. But elementary applied maths lessons had it drummed in to me that speed and distance are intimately connected:
distance = speed x time
So to increase distance covered in 28 mins you have to go faster! That gave me something to smile about for the next few minutes and helped to pass the time.
But as I say I get what she means - maybe better to say the goal is to keep running the whole time and don't worry about picking up speed unless you're confident you can do it.
Week 9 is going to have to be delayed a week as we are planning to be away on holiday, and we don't want to take extra washing etc.
If my mum still in hospital next week we won't be going on hols and week 9 will almost certainly get done as necessary therapy!
