I posted last week about the dreaded week 5 20 minute run. I did it, but didn't feel quite right about it somehow. I'd had to stop twice, albeit briefly, because someone seemed to have poured molten lead into my legs. So, I decided to repeat it today before moving on to week 6, just to make sure I could. I went to the beach - for 3 reasons 1) it's the flattest place round here for miles 2) falling over on sand would be less painful than where I usually run (I've only fallen over once, but it was on slate and it HURT! and dented my confidence a bit) and 3) there's hardly anyone about on a weekday evening to see me 'running' in the style of someone in a vat of treacle who can't really run and is wearing concrete boots. Anyway I did it, properly to my satisfaction this time. I was SO slow, and my legs felt so heavy, but breathing? Oh, yeah, I can do breathing now! I was barely puffed when I stopped. Some months ago when I couldn't even run for 30 seconds without feeling like I'd pass out from lack of oxygen, I wouldn't have believed this would ever be possible. I am so excited about week 6 and the rest - starting to believe I might actually be able to run properly one day.

Running for 20 minutes non stop, crazy huh! Your legs are probably heavy coz they're in shock πŸ˜‚...they'll get used to it and adapt, just like your breathing has. Enjoy your next run 😊
