Ok...this is kind of an embarrassing question and I need help from our girl runners
I ran 30 min today but after my run, i saw blood in urine after I peed. It was almost like the menstrual blood-like how you get on the last day. It was very little, but it was there. My period finished more than a week ago, so this was a surprise
I am not bleeding since. But i am wondering if this happened because of my run? should i go to doctor and wait to see if this happens again? I do a slow jog and don't run fast. But since I jogged for 30 min and I did get tired towards the end.
July 19th update
My Runner friends,

But - It MIGHT be what happened to me after a couple of ten Mile runs on a treadmill. I run outside 99.99% of the time so when I peed blood after both sessions it seems I was slamming my feet down too hard, which caused the walls of my bladder to smack together back and forth.
A qualified Doc and a Urinalysis put my mind at rest re cancer etc
I would highly recommend that you see your physician just to make sure and put your mind at ease about what went on in your case
tks Irish John...i had a question. do you still blled after your run? I will def go to doctor and show him if I bleed again. I was reading that if we pee like 20 min before the run, it will help. did the blood stop for you? other than not hitting thr ground too hard, did you change anything else. Tks for your help
It's not happened again - I've not run on a treadmill since it did.
I was told that an empty bladder is more likely to be slapped around, but that's the extent of my knowledge about it. I do remember an old Sgt back home saying the route marches would make us "piss blood" and thinking he was bsing - but apparently it can happen.
Really, a check up by your Doc would be very beneficial - after all, us lot are just surmising here
you know running is such an amazing thing. I just loveeee running. I have so fallen in love with it. I wish i had found it earlier! i am now close to 50 and found this love...I will let you know what doc says
yeah i will make the appt...i also started cranberry juice today...i vouch by that..if you ever get UTI-take 1/4 cup for 3 days..best natural remedy by the way...
I do if I get cystitis but if there's blood, get it checked, you may need antibiotics if it's gotten to "blood" stage. Untreated bladder infections can cause kidney damage if untreated (what my doc told me)
Not sure i can add anything or be very helpful but ever since the long continuous runs , about 3 months ago I’ve been spotting after running mid cycle and this is very light but still there.
I’ve had referrals and ultrasounds/tests and they cannot find anything wrong as such which is very good but it always seems to be around ovulation and I can’t find an answer From the doctor nor gynaecologist as now they have ruled things out , they don’t really want to know..
They did mention cervical erosion can cause slight bleeding , which apparently is quite common .
definitely see your gp if you’re worried and if it continues, keep a note of when and if it’s always after a long run etc . X
It may just be a natural discharge, particularly if there’s no unpleasant or unusual smell. I’ve found regular exercise also led to regular periods, which has been brilliant ! Get it checked and you’ll be able to carry on without worrying.
