Has anyone discovered the new spotify running feature on the iPhone app yet? I was on spotify the other day when it popped up, but I usually run with my iPod so I wondered it this might make it worthwhile taking the iPhone out again...?

Apparently you just select Running, Tap a genre you want to run to, Start running and spotify detects your tempo automatically and plays music that matches it for your run!

Wow, I need to look and see if that's a new feature on Android too!

Sounds amazing. I wonder if it works on Android??? Only thing is, as you get tired and go slower, the music would get slower too and this would slow you down even more. Do I detect a vicious cycle here?? ;)

It seems the feature is "coming soon" to android spotify.com/uk/running/

I am using run-keeper that has a link to spotify so you can choose what "running" music to download. Good luck with the music

I wonder what happens when you have to stop at traffic lights or slow down to go up a hill?

So, I've been using the running option on spotify and so far I love it! It sets itself to your steps a minute that the phone detects - it worked to 155 steps a min for me (spot on my cadence) and you can manually change the number if you want to do some work on it.

What I like is that there are a numbe of different playlists and the music auto blends in and out. No fast forward or pressing play all the time.

Defo using it going forwards!

This is a great feature! I really love the Burn album for running.

Been using it for a couple of months now and I love it! I tend to set the tempo manually rather than letting it detect. "Lock the Flow" and "Blissed Out" are my favorite playlists but "The Chase" is also great for interval training ;-) There is definitely something for everyone in there though.
