Doing a week twice?

I'm at W4R2 and the five minutes runs are really pushing me. Don't think I can do the eight minutes next week so thinking about redoing week four but I feel like a bit of a wuss. Anyone else had to redo a week?

Lots of people repeat for various reasons. But in your situation, really no need (unless you want to) - if you did the last run, you are ready for the next one. Have faith in the programme and yourself. I looked at every new week with a WTF! but managed without repeats and I am sure you can too :)

I woukd only repeat runs that you don't complete. You should try, slowly, you might surprise yourself !

Yes I had to redo a few runs that's why c25k took me 17 weeks but I don't care I got there eventually. You could move on to the next run and see how you go , if you find it tough do a repeat week good luck 😊😊

Trust the program. If you have completed all the runs so far then you can do the next one. Sounds bizarre doesn't it? Give it a go 😁

Did you think you could run 5? I didn’t... we both did it though!

It’s your journey... so it’s your choice. Every run we do makes us stronger and fitter for the next one. So, in that respect you’re ready for the next week... and to counter that, if you do repeat you’ll be 3 runs fitter and stronger when you move up a week. Either is good physically.

Mentally speaking... if you’re in danger of building a wall that you can’t take the step up, repeating won’t help that. Is the fear of not running 8 worth having? Would running 7 and having to stop be failure or progress to you? In my mind it’s progress. A lot of this is mental... the plan takes care of the physical bit. Any wall you build in your mind, any fears you have, they’re not real... and at some point you will absolutely amaze yourself when you see a glimpse of how awesome you really are.

You can do the next week on the plan... which week that is in your journey is your decision... just know and remind yourself that you can and will complete this plan and run 30 minutes straight.

Happy running.

Thank you that really helped, I need to stop looking at the next week and just focus on what I'm doing right now x

Good point, I know a lot of the fear of 8 mins is mental for me. But then I really never thought I could run 5 mins!

I’ve repeated weeks and/or runs. Just go with your gut feeling. Do what’s right for you. Quite a few people say to continue to the next step rather than repeat but I’m not in any hurry to get finished. I’m just enjoying the journey.

I just finished my 2nd week 4 run and also considering re-doing the week. Mostly because I'm having a tattoo when the start of week 5 would be and not sure how it's going to play out pain-wise. But also.. I do want to see what happens if I just try week 5!

Not a wuss but would say trust the program and don’t overthink the runs to come. You may be very pleasantly surprised as I was yesterday!!!

There is no need to repeat a run unless you didn’t complete it properly. If you’ve done the run no matter how strenuous it was, move onto the next run! This is the tough talk my friends gave me when I wanted to stay at a particular week and I’m so glad they did.

Saying that, it is normal to be worried about the duration of thenruns increasing and you can help yourself by reading the faq blog post on ‘running slow’ - this helped me a lot.
