Large lady update

I’m continuing to consolidate since completing C25k in May. I was running mon, weds and Fridays but my knees and groin were complaining about this quite a lot. So I took a week off and decided I would now run every third day. I am loving this new routine. I am also trying my own interval training of running slowly for 1k then a bit faster for the 2nd slow for the 3rd and then faster for the 4th. I can usually manage about 4K in 30mins. When my runs fall on a weekend I run for 5k at a very slow pace and I feel this is working well for me.

I have finally bought some Lycra leggings and a T shirt and ventured out in these this morning. It felt very liberating and I felt a bit like Ned Flanders in his Ski suit 😉😂 (search stupid sexy Flanders)

So just thought I’d keep everyone updated and to those just starting out.....Keep going and have faith in yourself and the plan. If I can do it being morbidly obese with arthritic knees and a dicky ticker....anyone can!

Sounds like you are doing amazingly. I was finding the consolidation runs hard to keep on with on my own so have joined a local beginners run club twice a week. The coach seems to know what he is doing but working me so much harder than I would ever do on my own with interval training etc. Last night we worked on core strength, lifting things over my head etc and this morning I can barely move! Supposedly this will help improve my running, if I don’t die first! :)

Glad to hear from you. Was just thinking the other day that you hadn’t posted in a while so it’s great to hear you are still making brilliant progress in your running and your confidence. Well done with the Lycra 🤣. You’ll soon be like the rest of us with drawerfuls!! 🤣🤣🤣. I’m off to google Ned Flanders 🤪🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

Well done Twinkle2! Your posts have been inspirational to me and I’ve enjoyed following them - are you hopping over to the Bridge210K or just carrying on with improving your distance for the time being? Whichever you do, all the best and an occasional update would be lovely!
