The title of this post was the first title of the very first post I ever wrote on this fabulous forum.

In these difficult times I have had lots of time to reflect and realise how grateful I am to have running as part of my life.

In these times where everything I know has changed...work, socialising, shopping etc the one thing that has remained constant is my running.

I run three times a week and can’t imagine my life without it. Such a difference from a couple of years ago when I couldn’t walk for 5 mins without huffing and puffing and my knees were so painful most of the time.

For those that have supported me from the start....thank you. I wouldn’t be here without the support from this fabulous group. And although I don’t post much I do visit the site everyday.

To those just starting out and feel embarrassed or that they can’t do it...have faith in the plan, have faith in yourself, go slow and post here.

I have posted a pic of me at Coronation Street approx 2 years ago. The next pic is of me on Sunday just getting ready to run 8k.

Trust the C25k plan.......you can do this!!!

Oh wow. Thank you. I’ve 3 stone (possibly more...) to loose. I’m in week 3. It’s hard but I’m determined....

What a coincidence, that headline was also the one I placed as my preferences on a dating site post!!😂

Seriously though, what a brilliant post and well done!👏👏👏👏

Amazing results, what eating plan did you follow or was it all exercise?

Thank you Saunders364. I didn’t follow a plan as such but started logging everything on my Fitbit app. Just try to stay within the amount recommended by the NHS and definitely try to burn more than I consume x

Many congratulations on keeping it going 👍 . I started in jan and I struggled in the awful weather ☹️. Enjoying it now . ☺️Dreading next winter already 🙈..... Any tips for making me keep getting out there next winter 🥶and not reverting back to couch potatoes 🥔 . Wish I could loose weight - have put in 9lb since starting this lark in jan !!😳🙄🙈.

Thank you karen50plus. I really struggled over the winter, not so much with the cold but with the dark. Where I live is very rural so when it’s dark...it’s really dark.

I did try running once a week and doing an exercise dvd on other days but I just didn’t get the same buzz.

I ended up buying a hand held and head torch and just going shorter distances. Another thing that helped was to get running clothes ready the night before. Then just get up, get dressed and get out before I had time to talk myself out of it. Xxx

I just saw this- I remember you when you started and I am so happy to hear that you have done so well. This really is a life changer!

This is very inspiring for me .... thank you 😊
