I’ve seen a chap on YouTube
From far away Japan
I would have liked to meet him
And shake him by the hand
He introduced “slow running”
And that’s my kind of sport
Having spent so many years
Allergic to any other sort.
Now in my head I’m fleet of foot
And swift like a gazelle
But today I timed my running
And my bubble burst. Oh well. ☹️
It seems that though I think that I
Am running like the devil
It transpires I take slow running
To a whole new deeper level!
With seven runs left still to do
To reach my graduation
I will not cover near 5k
Without some acceleration.
Now I could be downhearted
About my lack of speed
But old Professor Tanaka
Says that isn’t what I need
Slow and steady is the way
More tortoise than a hare
It’s less about the time and more
Being able to get there
So I will carry on but slowly,
Continue jogging at my pace
With a huge sense of a achievement
And a big grin on my face 🙂
30 minutes is in sight
But back in the beginning
60 seconds was a challenge
So I reckon I am winning 🙂
