Have just done W4 run 2 and have looked ahead at next week. Although I’m really pleased with my progress, I just don’t know how I’ll run for 20 mins solid! Any advice???
Dreading Week 5!: Have just done W4 run 2 and... - Couch to 5K
Dreading Week 5!
Trust the program you’ll run it like it was the most natural thing in the world, it’s some weird jiggery pokery but it honestly works, keep at it, ignore the gremlins and listen to the run bunnies they get you through everything 🤪🤘🤪🤘
Relax and have a read of this guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it is full of tips and I recommend you follow the link to the post about mental approach.
As for W5R3.........it is the shortest workout since W3, as explained in this breakdown of W5 healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
There is nothing to dread in C25K..........we are not PE teachers who will bawl you out.........it is a training plan designed to build stamina and confidence.
Relax and enjoy the journey.

Read this and believe it... Week 5... Just another run week... different but all doable...delight and not dread
You are doing just fine.. all you need to do is Know you will do this
Yep. Don’t worry and don’t look ahead! 5:3 is a big talking point on here. You’re ready for it, because you’ve done the plan. Try not to panic, it’s actually a lot easier than you think it will be, just take it steady. Channel your inner snail! Good luck.🏃♀️😊
I'm feeling the same. Smashed W4R1, then found R2 really hard so moving onto week5 after 1 more run seems impossible. It's great to see all the replies from the others. And they're right. The program already showed me that I can run for more than I ever thought I would so it'll get us there . We can do it!
Don’t dread it at all. When you get to run 3 everything you’ve done up to that point has been in preparation. These wizards who designed this programme really knew what they were doing. I’m constantly surprised at my ability to run now when only a few weeks ago it was unthinkable.
You can do this!
Ignore what it says about the time you will be running, you are looking at that and beating yourself before you have even tried it.
As already mentioned above, trust the program, it's preparing you for this without you know it, you know that you have been recovering quickly between runs and that the runs have been getting longer, what you don't know is how much it has been preparing you for this.
Just do the usual, one foot in front of the other, if you run on a treadmill, cover up the time spent running, if you run outside make it hard to look at a watch, etc.
The main things are to relax, breathe, pace yourself and above all, enjoy it. If your head starts telling you that you have to stop, tell it one more minute, one more minute and so on, the time will actually fly by.
Count songs as you run, 20 minutes is just under 7 songs, count them down as you go, anything to take your mind off of the time you've been running.
YOU CAN DO THIS!
