so ive actually been dreading this week 5 run 3 since i stupidly looked ahead to see what the upcoming weeks entailed, but today was the day to do it.and amazingly i did do it. im sure i wasnt a pretty sight and the last 5 minutes was the longest, hardest, worst 5 minutes of my entire life but it did help reading other peoples posts on here about there experiences with this run.also im not even going to look ahead to see what week 6 entails but im sure nothing will ever be as bad as week 5 run 3. but saying that if anyone reads this who have got that run coming up honestly if i can do it anyone can, like everyone keeps saying on here slow and steady or even slower and steady and you will do it.

A great post.... ! Well done you !
Some folk like to peek, some not.. it is your choice... I enjoyed the surprise aspect but can remember feeling apprehensive about certain runs... when Laura announced what was going o be happening on the run... but like you, slow and steady!
Just trust the programme and have faith in you... you have come such along way... do not let any of the coming runs throw you..just warm up well, start slowly and try to relax into the run. Stretches afterwards too are essential
As the runs increase in time, you may be able to find your comfy pace and your running legs will just follow through !
Brilliant!!!
thanks for the advice oldfloss im not even going to look ahead anymore im just going to find out on the day in future.i really need to work on my pace though i do tend to start of a bit to quick so these next coming weeks ill try and sort that out.also i need to go and sort out some better trainers now the distances are increasing my old dog walking trainers arent cutting it any more.
Well done- you did it - it feels good to have actually run for 20 minutes, doesn't It!!
Slow and steady, and one run at a time
Woohoo.. Well done Sparrowta that was a biggie😎... and you did it!
Onwards and upwards..😊
Good luck
I never peek because Oldfloss said it can be offputting to some, and I was glad I didn't on that run. But I am guessing your grin at the end lasted a lot longer than the run itself. W5 mixes it up a bit and it's a real milestone Week for most of us, especially when you read the before and after posts for the now infamous R3. Slow and steady will do it, oh and make sure you get your gait analysed so you invest the hard earned cash into shoes that really help you 'kiss the ground' another oldflossism .... brilliantly done you and Inspirational to Runners a few runs behind you.
Well done. It is a milestone.
Without looking forward, may I give a bit of gentle advice......... W6R1 looks and sounds simple after your recent triumph..........give it respect, many people are bemused by it's ability to be a toughie. Just start out slow and steady and you will be fine.
Definitely know what you mean about those last few minutes! Pretty sure the last "5" minutes of mine lasted at least another twenty. By the time Jo was telling me there were "only" 2 minutes to go, I was sure I should have finished some time before that, I was genuinely checking to see if the app had frozen! But we did it
