Hi all! I'd written before about feeling I had a mental block on repeating the 25 min run I managed at the end of week 6. I'd just not managed it on the next run, then had a weeks break while the kids were on half term, and really struggled to break past the 16 minute mark when I got back into it.
Tuesdays run was not actually in the rain thankfully but incredibly muddy, and frustratingly I had to walk for a couple of minutes half way through to avoid falling on my bum. I then finished the run, and found the second ten minutes or so were much easier. I decided to cheekily mark it as week 7 run 1 complete anyway!
This morning my new kit arrived (a bra to replace the one that dug into my shoulders and a new top to replace the one that had got really manky) and I think this was the little boost I needed - I ran slow and steady, tried my best to avoid the muddy puddles and wet dogs, and listened to a good book, and managed the 25 minutes with ease!
I feel very proud of myself and much less guilty about the purchases - a bit of retail therapy and feeling good and comfortable as I started my run definitely made the difference!
Bring on week 7 run 3! Just please... no more rain!
