Just back from another damp outing. After a week of rain there’s nothing that isn’t soaked, including me now. The slug armies were out again, having the best days of their lives while planning their take-over of the planet. The birds were just getting on with life, so I tried to follow their example. I was really tired, though, and just couldn’t find the energy. I decided not to worry about speed and struck out in a rhythm somewhere between my usual approach and the Japanese slow jog (is that’s what it’s called?).
In that way a slightly disappointing 30 minutes passed without any problems.
But please no more rain for a bit.

Well done you for getting out in this rather inclement weather. These consolidation runs are feeling a bit if a slog at the mo. I'll be out early eve so hoping it's not tipping it down 🙏
You did it. You ran. I am currently an expert in grinding it out. Just get it over with and you will get bright days again, like my 5k which popped out of nowhere.
The slugs need their time in the spotlight, it's nearly over. Their world take over will come to nothing, I've stocked up on salt and we're currently sweating out enough salt to prevent any attacks.
If the snails join in, and the worms, I fear we may be done for.
Thanks. But have you noticed that those slugs are getting BIGGER? There were some real monsters stalking the paths this morning. They looked quite smug about the situation, actually.
They just think their time has come. The slug has turned so to speak. Although you are right, there are some huge ones, I think they are a throwback to the dinosaur slugs from times past.
Well done. Your run was not a disappointment, it was a triumphant display of strength to those slugs. 😂 I'm expecting a rather soggy run later this morning, British summers, eh?
Thank you. It’s certainly not like last year’s summer, which lasted for months and months. I bet the slugs hated that! On the plus side I’m hoping that soggy June will mean we don’t have water shortages later.
Well done again for perseverance. It is harder getting motivated to get out the door in this yucky weather. I am finding I love the cooling effect of the run once I do get out. Much prefer it to being too hot 🥵 as I then feel like I’m going to spontaneously combust 😂😂.
BTW, watch out for the worms too; my daughter woke up to a scene like The Birds movie. Hundreds of birds scrambling and squawking on her lawn for the mass of worms brought out in the rain. Freaked her out 😳😂
I haven’t had the worm attack yet, but will keep an eye out. Luckily there are also huge crows, so maybe they are eating them all. It’s dangerous out there!
Well done on getting out in the rain! I read your post this morning and procrastinated all day - eventually kicked myself out of the door and into the drizzle. I hate the rain 😫 - my run was ‘grindy’ but pleased I did it. I am now soggy and ready for a hot shower. When will the sun come back???? 🌞😀🌞 x
