New shoes!

Well, I went and got my gait analysed. The good news, is that I am neutral! The bad news is, because of my bunions and generally wide feet, I had to buy flipping men’s running shoes! 😱 I feel like a freak! 🥺 Mind you, they were only £90, compared with the £120 pair I first tried. That meant I was able to splash out on a Shock Absorber over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder! 🤣

Huge well done, there are a fair few of the forum friends with wider and larger feet... all the better to run and cover the ground with :)

If only! I still take tiny, verrry slow steps! It’ll take me about ten years to get to 5k! 🤣

Mine are really ugly 😩 , but, if I avoid injury, and run better, then I can live with that. How do I add a photo?

Enjoy the new treads, any saving is good especially if you are "gifted on the upper storey" and have to invest in a bra made by a structural engineer, I know the feeling🤣 Hope you find they give you a n extra bounce.. at least on your feet! On we go to the next week.

Boulder holders are as important as feet covers aren’t they! Well done on your purchases and happy runs ahead!

As long as they're comfy I wouldn't worry. I'm a size 8 but had to buy a 9 in trainers as the 8s were too tight! Enjoy your 🏃

Thank you! They felt like slippers when I tried them on in the shop. 😊

Well done on your purchases. Both are the most important gear for ladies, and the sooner one gets them the better.

You defo will feel the difference.

And while you are in spending mood, please buy at least one pair of running socks to start with. They also make a difference.

With the new set you would surely not need 10 years to 5k. 😁

Lol! What socks do you recommend?

You can ask in the shop where you bought the shoes. [To the admin, is it okay to name a brand?]

Mine are Bridgedale, ankle socks.

Another pair no-name, use them only seldomly. I rather use the walking socks, also Bridgedale.

1 pair is not sufficient for rotation but is a good start.

Big companies have their own brand, also good and cheaper.

They also vary in hight, summer coming I suggest ankle socks.

Best to get the right shoes for you than suffer an injury. I'd much rather be happily running in great big clod-hopping boats than on the IC (though I'm sure that description doesn't apply to what you have!!). :)

Lol! They just make my feet look huge!

I’ve had men’s before as I’m a size 9 and now I need to size up as marathon training and have had a couple of black toenails but luckily saucony do women’s 9.5 (and 10)
