Jùst introducing myself. I have gone onto this forum becuase i am about to start on the couch to 5k programme. I am a obese 51yr old nale who since stopped playing sport have allowed myself to get this way. I havr other health issues like oestaryhritis in my feet and knees so to do any running is going to show a whole host of other challenges.

I am seeting myself a longer time frame to complete this due to those issues. Thanks

Starting is half the work already, just follow the programme, drink water and respect your rest days. Everyone here will help encourage you every step, it's a great forum.

Good luck !

Take each run as it comes, run slow and steady and plan a few nice routes to keep you interested in the scenery rather than thinking too much about what your legs are doing. The great thing about the programme is that it builds up your stamina and fitness bit by bit - of course you can take longer than the 9 weeks if you want to but you will probably surprise yourself with how quickly you can feel a difference in your fitness level. Drink plenty of water every day, have at least one rest day between runs and keep posting on here - we'll all be cheering you on!
