Week 6 Run 2

After a few days back home with poorly Dad and struggling Mum, I was looking forward to this run.

Jo kindly agreed to work this evening and she saw me through my two ten minute runs. God it felt good to switch off the mind for a bit. The first ten minutes were tough and just as I got going it was back to walk. Got into the second run much faster than the first and actually enjoyed it. I'm feeling better in myself and my head is a bit clearer now. I'm hoping to sleep tonight.

No one warns you that middle age is a combination of worrying about your kids and your parents at the same time!

Keep at it Lindsey-joy in time as you progress which you will you will find that 40 minutes will be a godsend, the lone time, with in my case music and Laura was a great relief especially with the way my mum was in the hospice. I was determined and so pleased she waited for me to graduate before going. Now I run, talk with her especially near the end of a run with my music and Laura.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss and I really am glad you have found running as a way to help you through such a difficult time.

It does help and I am sure it will relieve the stress for you stick at it.

Well done you👏. I can say that running is helping me physical but more importantly mentally. . . 👌✌. I'm beginning to realize it's just as important to me as my medication I take for my mental health. .

I totally agree. I wouldn't want to be without my meds but it would be lovely to be able to decrease them 😁

You are storming through this programme! Also...been there with my parents too, it’s so hard isn’t it. Good use of running time, it’s time to us, JUST us, our thoughts. Helps me get my head straight. I’m onto consolidation runs, can run 32 mins now! You won’t be far behind 🤩

Thank you! I can't believe how quickly it's going!

I can't wait to be able to run for 32 minutes! I would never have believed it would be possible six weeks ago but now........yes, I think I will get there! 😁

hi Lindsey-joy, well done completing the run and pleased it helped you clear your head a bit😊

I found that run hard with having to break the run with a walk then run again but next ones are better

Life is a balancing act and we often spend so much of it caring for others that its easy to forget about ourselves and difficult to give ourself time

This is where the programme can help as we commit to an allotted time for just us - invaluable for helping get life back into kilter - you take care and enjoy the benefits of our journey on the programme fellow runner you doing great👍🏃‍♀️😊

Thank you. That's good to know. It's funny but i am nowhere near as apprehensive about the 25 minute run as I was about last weeks 20 minute run. I think I am finally starting to believe that I can do it! Good luck with starting week 7, this really is flying by!

After having a rather over indulgent weekend, I'm off to do wk6r2 this morning. I've had 3 whole days off, so feeling a little anxious!

I know exactly what you mean about worrying about parents and kids. That role reversal is bizarre.

Well done you! X

Got on really well, much better than the previous run. Have to say I did not want to stop and walk. That was hard starting running again!

Oh well done! Yes the stopping is annoying isn't it!

Will probably be longing for the stop on the next run! 😂 The way I see it I've achieved what I want too. I can run for 20 mins! Anything more than that is a bonus
