Week 9 Run 1

I did it! After 8 weeks of training, I have reached the goal to run for a full 30 minutes! I’m feeling great and looking forward to having a rest for the rest of the Bank Holiday Monday. My only concern is that tracking my distance I am running around 3.8k in 30 minutes as opposed to the targeted 5k - did anyone else have this? Is it something I should be concerned about?

Well done! And no, most people do not reach 5k within this course. There’s a very interesting/reassuring poll about this in the polls section. See:

I didn't make 5K either, but I did run for 30 mins. As I was running for time and not distance it doesn't worry me but I do have an aim of running for 5K which will come soon-ish hopefully

Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds... :)

The idea is to get to those 30 minute runs... many of our most awesome runners on the forum have never run 5K in 30 minutes.. they run Marathons and HMs and Triathlons etc..though :)

Just enjoy the runs and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Bask in the glory and then do check out the What Next pinned post in FAQ...
