Week 9 Run 3 Complete, YES!!! and it feels like I really have achieved something. For the past 40 odd years I've been sat at a desk at work and although I used to play 5 a side with the guys at work in the early days thats long ago.
Playing with my grandchildren and a doctors checkup spurred me into action and its an incredible feeling. I also cheated and ran a little longer to achieve running for 5k.
I was due to complete last week but wanted to finish on a weekend so after a week of 3 x 7 mile bike rides the time was ready. Yesterday was the plan but a works leaving do in Middlesbrough paid to that. And because we are going to Manchester tonight the alarm was on at 0510. What a shock.
I had planned my route to achieve 5k but at least 30 mins. The bike rides helped my legs which did not feel as heavy as my last 30 min run.
As I came to the end of the run I pictured myself running through the finish line tape while listening to my all time favourite 1159 by Blondie.
This would not have been possible without the C25K programme and your support including reading your own challenges which helped me think about my own. You will all achieve Graduation. Believe in yourself and its okay to change plans like I've seen some do. Go at your pace and don't worry about speed and distance.
Good luck to you all and Thank You.

Well done - it has been lovely following your journey! Now go and get that well-earned graduation badge. I’m looking forward to seeing it next to your name 😊
Congratulations "Am i really running" on completing C25K and graduating, to get you graduation badge and the word graduate next to your username, leave a message in the pinned posts on the right side of the May Healthunlocked C25K Homepage and tell the administrators that you have ran run 3 of week 9 and graduated.
Thanks you. I need to consolidate. I wouldn't say its fully comfortable but its okay. The guys at work all boast about their park run times and I'd like to surprise them, but I know from reading on here I need to be careful and not to push too hard. The bike rides really helped my legs so I need to balance running with bike rides during the summer to build up strength then who knows what I can achieve.
Im hoping for similar leg help with bike rides. In the last two weeks of C25k my right shin and both knees were feeling some niggles, nothing much but I plan on resting them this week with easy short runs and adding some cycling will help keep up the fitness and strengthen the legs more 🚴🏼♀️. Have fun and keep up the great effort 😃
