Week 9 Run 3 Complete, YES!!! and it feels like I really have achieved something. For the past 40 odd years I've been sat at a desk at work and although I used to play 5 a side with the guys at work in the early days thats long ago.
Playing with my grandchildren and a doctors checkup spurred me into action and its an incredible feeling. I also cheated and ran a little longer to achieve running for 5k.
I was due to complete last week but wanted to finish on a weekend so after a week of 3 x 7 mile bike rides the time was ready. Yesterday was the plan but a works leaving do in Middlesbrough paid to that. And because we are going to Manchester tonight the alarm was on at 0510. What a shock.
I had planned my route to achieve 5k but at least 30 mins. The bike rides helped my legs which did not feel as heavy as my last 30 min run.
As I came to the end of the run I pictured myself running through the finish line tape while listening to my all time favourite 1159 by Blondie.
This would not have been possible without the C25K programme and your support including reading your own challenges which helped me think about my own. You will all achieve Graduation. Believe in yourself and its okay to change plans like I've seen some do. Go at your pace and don't worry about speed and distance.
Good luck to you all and Thank You.
