Been super proud of my progress last Friday did wk6 run1 & found it difficult. Came home had slight chest pains by Saturday morning pains going through my shoulders also! Long story short I have pleurisy 😡! I’m trying to be patient but....I’ve worked so hard don’t wanna lose my fitness, taken it easy this week but thinking of trying to complete it on a treadmill 🙄! Really wanted to be a jogger & cancel the gym.

Basically anyone been through similar? Tips & positive words would be great. Thank you all in advance xx

What did the gp say regarding exercise? 🤔

Dr said exercise is good for you but take it easy but no time scale.

You will lose next to no condition in the first two weeks of non running, thereafter loss is slow.

In a few months time this will look like a minor blip in your running career.

Take care and get well.

I am not a medic but I did have pleurisy many years ago and remember being knocked sideways. I would suggest that you wait for your lung capacity to be back to normal. Maybe try a few walks and see how you get on, before starting running again. Take care, the running will still be there when you are better :)

I not medical nor have I had pleurisy - all I can do is wish you well and you never know, the fact you’ve been doing your runs and are a bit fitter may speed your recovery time a bit. Good luck!

I’m not sure what that is exactly but I wish you well in your recovery and if the doctor says take it easy, you can take it easy on the runs x

Most important thing is to get well 🤒pleurisy isn't a quick recovery so don't push yourself, the runs will wait for you.

Take care, time to pamper yourself I think.
