Learning to listen

Returning to C25K starting at the beginning 8 weeks ago, have just completed week 5. My body told me it wasn't a good idea to run while "obese" (official) through the two week heat wave. I'm OK with the changes since I last completed, way before the pandemic. Tried running a bit through that time but comfort eating and escapism through the goggle box took hold. I'm learning to listen to my body that clearly was saying "enough is enough" I'm slower but still able to do it at 60. Can't recommend this programme enough.

every step taken is amazing ,and you are so right to go at your pace this is your special journey that’s what I tell myself when negative thoughts come my way. I always make a point if praising myself and saying how proud I am of myself . I often think the worse and this helps me . I think it’s great what you are doing . I’m getting ready for last run of week 4 which has taken more than 4 weeks but like you I do it at my pace and I feel good at what I’ve achieved so far on my unique journey with me myself and I am nurturing myself along the way .

I'm also a returnee (is that really a word!) and officially obese but just started week 6. Boy am I slow! 73 years and 19 (ish) stones don't make for speed - so I just do what is needed and at my own pace. Just continue with the programme, you know it works, just don't let the "need for speed" gremlin get a hold.
