I am on week three of C25K and my knees and legs are hurting so much, in a morning is the worst, i am new to this and even though I am trying to continue it really hurts when I jog, they don’t seem to be getting worse as keep thinking I will wake up and not be able to walk as coming down stairs first thing is horrid 😡 has anyone experienced this I really don’t want to give up but it’s so hard to do in pain

I just posted something below for Zoey17 that might help you too!

To Zoey17 and Kazzio, probably both of you are running a little too fast, have a few days off running and and drink plenty of water the day before you run and run perhaps a little slower than you have done up to now.

It shouldn’t hurt that much. Are you running too fast? I’m naturally quite a fast walker, so my brisk walk was very fast, I started my runs faster than this (as you think a run should be faster than a walk!) and that was a huge mistake. So first trick is to learn to run slower than the walking sections.

Around W6 someone posted this & it changed everything for me.

It’s a low impact style of running and designed to avoid injury and pain. So have a few days off, plenty of water on rest days too, and then continue but at this slow pace. Take note of the foot landing as that will really help with the shin splints. I love this style of running and still run this way all the time, it’s gentle, but I can now run for over an hour this way and never have pain, but am getting lovely and fit and toned! Hope it helps you as much as it has me.
