Hello again. I did run 2 of repeat week 1. Good news is I completed all the 60s intervals and shhhh don’t tell my brain this but I was slightly shocked a couple of times when Sarah’s wee little voice came in saying I could walk. I think I could have continued a teeny bit longer. (Which is miraculous as the reason I’m repeating the week is that last week I could hardly get to 30 seconds).
Only thing is now my bloomin knees and legs are very sore. I’ve stretched well and had hot baths etc. Is it just because I need to build strength and loose weight do you think? Will it improve with time? I’ve never had any issues in this regard before.
Thanks all. Xx

You're making your legs do something they thought they'd finished with years ago; they've a right to moan a little but it won't last. Find a stretching app for after your run and give them a little tlc. Mine are at the end of W8 and, I must say, pretty darn gorgeous! They've not been that for eons! 😊
I have just completed week 3 and I find my thighs and knees ache the next day too but if I add a couple of hands full of Epsom salts to my after run bath...what a difference!!!. I'm a shower gal really but I've taken to bathing after each run and after I've completed my stretches.
Everybody aches when they push their body into doing things that it has not done before. Stretching after every single run can help reduce this. For me, most of the initial aching eased considerably around W5, but this will be different for each individual.
Do read the guide to the plan, that Oldfloss has linked to.
Proper running shoes, fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop, can help eradicate a lot of these sorts of pains by absorbing impact.
