Walking

I walked to the bathroom and back today! I realise this is a running app but I was sidelined by a torn ACL and torn cartridge 4 weeks ago when I was up to week 4. I was really enjoying the running much to my surprise so I've really struggled mentally with this. At times I thought I'd never run again. But today I walked without crutches. Seems silly I know but just thought I'd share my joy. Can't wait to hear Micheal telling me I'm doing a good job again ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Thanks for encouragement. I'm not the most patient of people but I'm hoping to be back on the treadmill by July. Fingers crossed

Just wanted to say hello as a fellow ACL tearer. I did mine back in October 2017 (not from running) and had surgery late March 2018. Congratulations for walking without crutches, I remember how good it felt to be off them!

The recovery is tough mentally and physically but if you put the work in you will get there. I started running on a treadmill on August and C25k in December.I graduated last month - it took me longer then it should of because of life getting in the way and not the ACL. I did my first parkrun at the weekend and can run 5k in just under 34 minutes.

You have got this, you will be back to normal soon and smashing your way through the programme.

Thank so much for the reply.. I've never had any injury before apart from the odd sprained ankle so really struggled with it. It's nice to know that I will get back to the running. I'm lucky I don't need surgery as its only a level 2 so I'm hoping it's sooner rather than later. Congratulations on graduating.
