Tried Couch to 5k+ tonight - what an experience!

I thought I'd give it a go, it was my second run after graduating.

So Laura talked me through the pace I needed to keep ("1 2 3 4") and this was hard enough for the warm up walk let alone the run. My natural pace is brisk and my little legs don't have a wide gait so I really felt that it wasn't comfortable. Having to concentrate on the pace my legs were moving at also made me feel how heavy my legs were! I never normally notice this.

My maximum speed was 6.3 mph and my heart beat went as high as 167 BPM. I think this is when I started to feel dizzy, and so after about 22 minutes of running I walked.

I guess I won't be trying that again for a while!

Enjoy your own consolidation freedom.

The 3 podcasts stepping stones, stamina and speed, are amazing.Hope you do not discount just yet.

Dizzy not good.

If you do try them later, do them initially in the above order. The bpm and cadence are lower in SS. You need to really shorten your stride, even if you are running on the spot to do it. Laura suggests that, quick short steps.

Hope this helps, and the structure and how they are arranged is very supportive to your running later. Toward the end of the stamina podcast the rhythm goes off , but that apart, they are excellent.Audio fuel.🤔😂😂👍

Thank you for such great advice! It was great to listen to the podcast and I enjoyed the music.

I'll be sure to come back to your comment when I tackle it again in a couple of weeks. 😉👍

Well done... but this why we do not advise trying the +podcasts until after a couple of weeks of consolidation :)

Thanks 😳 I should have read the advice. I think even if I'd listened to the podcast I wouldn't have realised how it would have been practically speaking. I will go back to it in a couple of weeks. 👍
