Good afternoon ...Just thought I'd update on my IC progress ..Went to the doctors today ...He has said I have torn ligament/tendon in my leg no running for at least 3 weeks ...So gutted ...I thought I was getting better but was still limping slightly so decided to visit doctors ..(.That's a lot for me to do as I don't do doctors ) but hobbling around for 6 days enough was enough ....Good news got good medication that I can now walk with no limp ..I'm happy with that ..bad news can't run for 3 more weeks that means a month without running ...After just graduating not good ...Hope everyone out there is fit and healthy and keeps running ...The ones who are on the IC ...We will just need to keep each other company ...Thanks for being there ππ

Update ban on running for meπ’π’
You have torn a ligament and a tendon? Crikey. Bad luck. Which ones?
He just said torn ligament or tendon I don't think he was too sure to be honest but the naproxen he has given are great ..π
What? You need to get a second opinion ASAP. That is astonishing. There is a major difference between a ligament and a tendon and a dr who cannot tell a tear in one from another is having a Turkish. Go to A&E.
Did he even manage to guess which part of the leg it me be?
He examined it ..And that was his words it's a torn ligament or tendon in this area ..He pressed on the part that hurt ...It's just under the kneecap to the left ...But he says if it's not better in a few weeks I should go to physio . .And don't run ..Rest it . ..I'm just glad to not have pain ..
Oh, no! So disappointing. I broke my foot in November, so I completely sympathize with your frustration! Follow the doctor's orders so you heal up fast and come back strong.
Oh you poor thing. How frustrating for you, but at least you know what it is & have correct medication. My thigh is still sore but I havenβt been to Drs - perhaps I should. Decided not to attempt any running until the wβend but if it still hurts lll book an appointment. Like you, Iβve just graduated (2 weeks ago) & still havenβt managed a proper post grad run. Take care of yourself.
Thank you queentea ...Yea you just think I will plod on thinking it will get better on its own ...But sometimes the doc is needed ...I'm grateful to be pain free now ...You should go and get it checked just to be sure ...Better being safe ...Hope you have a quick recovery ...All the best π
Sorry to hear about that Myrar, you and Floss seem to be going through a rough patch at the moment, I just wish both of you a quick recovery and after 3 weeks things will slowly get back to normal
Thinking of all those on the IC. I was there post graduation but fortunately just a strain which I have recovered from now. I think I overdid it on the running machine trying to improve on my grad pace. Lesson learned. Hope you are all better soon and finding other things you can do. If not , watch the World Cup, Wimbledon and get a tan! β½οΈπΎπ
Sorry to hear it, but it's not all bad news, you've improved and it could be worse! Sending positive vibes! π
Thank you sutsha ..Yes your right being pain free is a bonus and there are a lot of people worse off than I ...Take care
I'm just thinking you could've been on the IC for longer, but 3 more weeks isn't too bad. You watch, it'll fly by π
Thank you it will ....What's this there changed strava name in your honour lolπ
sallenson is talking about my post yesterday. I got 3rd all-time women's record for a Strava segment. Which sounds way more impressive than it is, believe me! Was still chuffed though. Didn't even know there was a segment on my run, usually don't run as far along but was out for 35 mins as I was doing the C25K+ Stamina podcast. Still quite new to Strava and learning new things every day. π
That's amazing well done you ...It's a big deal you shouldn't play it down 3rd all time womens record ...My god ...I need to go and read your post ...absolutely brilliant ...Well done ..I would be shouting from the rooftops ...You should have seen me when I graduated . Tears ..Happiness ...I was so chuffed ...so your achievement is fabulous πππ
Oh no, thatβs such a shame for you. Sadly canβt rush these things so just take it easy, youβll be back to running before you know it π€
We'll all still be here!! Apart from Hidden and the Rock Chicks, who will be off in far distance. Tho they may have encircled the globe by then and be back for another round to beat their PB
Apparently Strava is being re-named Sutsha in her honour. That's a nice touch.
Now you get better, pop in say hello from time to time, let us know how that darn leg is and we'll give you big C25K hugs xx
So sorry to hear that I know how frustrating it is. Look after yourself & download loads of box sets. As Oldfloss always says running will always be here for you.
Thank you welshwitch ...Yes I think I will have square eyes in a few weeks ..I don't like the telly much either ...But I will find something to amuse myself ...Think I will have to ask oldfloss to budge up on the IC and keep her company ππ
Take it easy now & it will pay off. Think short term pain for long term gain - you donβt want to rush back too soon & set yourself back for longer. Youβll get back to where you were. Once a runner always a runner.
Oh no! Thatβs horrible news! At least you arenβt in pain walking anymore. I hope your leg feels better really soon xx
Hi Myrar, So sorry that you didn't revive better news from the doctor. It must be time for more flowers πΊπΌπΈ and perhaps a little drink too πΎπ₯. I look forward to the even better drink celebrating your return to running.
Aww thank you so much ...Flowers and wine gratefully appreciated ......Thank you π
I donβt know how this forum handles bad words but be sure lots of them are flying through my mind. Sending lots of good wishes for speedy healing.
