I’m on week 8 run 1 but accidentally ran a bit longer last and realised I had run over 5km so joined the local Parkrun in Tonbridge this morning. So friendly and encouraging. I met another lady whose first time it was too so we ran together. I loved it. I came 558th and I’m so proud! I was 6th in my age group. I would encourage anyone to give it a go.
Parkrun done!: I’m on week 8 run 1 but... - Couch to 5K
Parkrun done!
Congratulations Jododds on plucking up the courage to go.I have been trying to for while now.I’m doing r1w9 tomorrow...but...you know What? You’ve just inspired me to register & hopefully go next Saturday .Thank you x
Excellent. That’s so good.... I can’t wait to get that confidence with my running. Give me hope! Thank you!
What a great happy picture..looks like you are loving this running...well done.
Congrats, lovely pic. ParkRun is the easy bit after completing C25k, really! So friendly and easier to run with all the distraction of other runners. Just completed our 11th ParkRun, since graduating in January, Saturday has become a big focus on our week and is now known as ParkRun day.
In October, my wife and I (both in 60s) struggled on the one minute runs and both have bad knees and she's had a replacement hip. Seems only like yesterday, and yet now we run 30ish and 40ish minutes each week.
Bet you cant wait for next week?
Well done!! I did the Tonbridge Parkrun as part of my C25K journey... and the route there is still my favourite, out of all the runs I do!! (I’ve even joined the Tonbridge Canoe club, because I was so inspired watching them potter by when I marshalled at the Parkrun!!) x I might see you there some time!! X
Brilliant Jododds, parkrun is great but be warned, Saturday’s will never be the same again! I’ve become totally addicted. 🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️🐕🏃♂️🐩🏃♂️🏃♀️
