Mindset in everyday life? W8r1

I’ve just got back from W8r1 and think this app is a miracle. I mean I’ve just run for 28 mins!!!Madness!

I felt a little shaky at 18mins but with my new mindset i knew I could push through.

I’m not sure I can say I enjoyed it but I’m so proud of how far I’ve come! The canal was beautiful this morning and how lovely to finish my cool down on the park swings

Has anyone else noticed that their mindset in all things has changed?

This week I noticed that my confidence has grown. I found myself speaking up where before i would have shied away. I feel more determined to go after things. Well if I can run for 28mins I can do anything, right?

Happy weekend running everyone, especially to any newbies.

Yes! I’ve felt a new sort of strength directly tied I think to my stronger body! The mind and body are so entwined, it’s strange that we don’t see this obvious connection. As for enjoying the running, you could try slowing down a touch more (even if you think you’re already slow!). I’ve found a pace (Japanese slow jogging style) that’s really helped me enjoy the running in the moment and that’s in turn made regular running easy.

28 minutes! You’re so close now Emlist just 5 to go!! x

Learning to run is way more than putting one foot in front of the other......

Well done.

Be prepared for some amazing results..you’re going to shock yourself!! Well done and don’t forget how far you’ve come. Whenever I’m frustrated my husband kindly reminds me I couldn’t run for 5mins just 12 weeks ago, it’s amazing ☺️🙌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

What a lovely thing to say, thank you. x

Love how you cool down on a park swing! 😃 I run for my mental health, I don't just think it's the physical exercise, I genuinely think running trains your mind to handle adversity. It's just you out there, you get to know yourself, you find that inner strength/voice/fighter that gets you to the finish. We're all stronger than we think.

I love that idea. Part of this was to help my anxiety as it was really taking a hold but now I can feel the change.

It just happens that I have a rec with a play area 2 minutes walk from my house. I always find it strange that it’s so under used.

I hope you celebrated completing the program! x

Excellent to use your local park! I do hope someone is counting the users - do recruit some more. 👍 Apparently lots of local parks are under threat from lack of available funds, and as communities we really need them! 😄🦚🌿🌷🌻🏏🤸🏾‍♀️🌳🍃🐿🐇🕷🌿🌳

It’s so sad. We have a field, skate area and a park but they are most often quiet. Great for me as I love to finish my runs along the canal with a cool down on the swings.

Everyone should have access to a green space.

Sounds like a great place to site a Park Run.... or maybe those have to be totally within the park. Our local PR has really revived a local park which was languishing, but there are two big field areas which are incorporated and still the run is 2 laps.

Well done, Emlist29, great start to Week 8 and looks like a beautiful place to run, down by the canal, lots of interesting things to spot. I think there's something wonderful about running near water, it really boosts my mood. For my Week 4,I did all my runs on the beach because we were on holiday in Cornwall. I found that watching the waves took my mind off what my legs were doing! Enjoy the rest of Week 8 and keep posting on here.
