Yesterday I completed run 1 of week 2, the thing which I have noticed and which i did not expect is that the tougher the runs are getting the more my mindset is changing towards my diet and I am now thinking all the time that as much as I build my stamina up over the weeks if I do not also start shifting the pounds I may struggle alot towards the end, so this is a really nice surprise and fingers crossed the pounds shed in line with the stamina increasing ready for the later weeks. Have any other people who were very overweight at the start found that they maybe had to repeat weeks whilst their weight and body adjusts to a point where they are able to complete the 9 weeks?

Mindset Changing
I’ve lost 2 stone + since last October watching what I eat and regular running , I haven’t shifted anything in last 6 weeks but people are commenting about my weight loss so toning definitely..... I think I see an ab in a certain light also 🤣 running has become easier , it’s only the last number of weeks where I know I won’t need to stop and I am extending my runs
I have been following Slimming world and running. I think SW has helped.me loose weight sensibly yet quickly (just over 3 stone in 6 months). Running has certainly helped my shape and no doubt helped the wieght loss to a degree! While your head is in the zone to improve health and fitness it's a great place to start from to make big changes and feel great about them!
Really sensible attitude. Until you are running well more than 5K the changes from running are mainly to do with shape & tone. If you combine that with careful eating from the beginning, you’ll defo make your running journey easier. Good luck with it! 👍👏🏼
I am very overweight and thought i would have to repeat runs for my body to adjust but I’m now at week 6 and haven’t had to repeat any. It really surprised me if I’m honest, i never thought i could get this far. I found that it was more the mental side of it, like i would think that my body wouldn’t be able to handle it but then i would complete the run so in the end i had more self belief than when i started 😊
I'm obese (though less obese than I was) and I haven't had to repeat any runs. I started walking 10,000 steps a day back in January and cut down hugely on carbs, so by the time I started C25K in March, I had already lost nearly 2 stone in weight. The running hasn't really helped me lose weight I don't think, as I have only lost another couple of pounds since starting 9 weeks ago but it has changed my shape and my smart scales tell me that my % of body fat has gone down quite a lot. If you combine the running with sensible, healthy eating I think you will surprise yourself with how well your body can cope with the programme.
