W9R3 - hope I made him proud

I managed to complete my final run today - 3 months to the day after I lost my hubby to cancer. I posted a few weeks ago and due to this wonderful community’s support have managed to get there. As ‘Laura’ announced I had completed the run tears poured from my eyes! I felt ridiculous but fortunately was wearing shades! I just hope I have the drive to continue. I still don’t seem to have that runner’s euphoria!! Any suggestions..? Thank you C25K

Very many congratulations on your graduation fellow runner.

This guide to post C25K running may be helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

I hope you can find solace and a renewed zest for life in your running.

My advice to those not quite feeling the buzz of running, is to take your amazing ability and go to some beautiful and inspiring scenery and run just for fun, not thinking about pace or distance........just a gentle run, mind.

Keep running, keep smiling.

I’m sure he’s looking on and wearing a huge smile while raising a glass.

Congratulations! There are two runners highs... one is in the run and one the pride that comes just after the finish line... I’m pretty sure you have the latter. The other doesn’t always come in the plan, it didn’t for me, because you’re always pushing your limits. Enjoy consolidating on your achievement and some nice relaxed, pressure off, runs and the other one will come soon. You now have a great base to have a great time on all your future running adventures.

That makes sense. Yes definitely the latter. Pressure off sounds like a plan.

What a marvellous achievement at such a difficult time 😍 I’m sure your hubby is proud of you and you should be so so proud of yourself. It is still very early days in experiencing your loss so to find the determination to do this is commendable.

Be kind to yourself now and build on your achievement by following the advice above. Find a beautiful spot to run in nature. Sending all best wishes for your continued running journey. Keep us updated here 😊
