This is my first post.

I’ve just finished my first run of week 4. Had to run for 5 mins!! I struggled but I did it.

Does it ever get easier? I feel like I’m out of breath after a minute of running. Today my legs were starting to hurt but I plodded on. Which does feel good.

I just excited about running. I’m always looking forward to the next run. But I hate it while I’m doing it. Anyone else feel like this? Will I ever also enjoy the run? Lol

Welcome. Slow down a little and it will be easier to keep your breath.

This plan is the best way to get from 0 to 30 minutes, which means it’s pushes up the duration constantly... because of this the plan will remain challenging, but the actual running will get easier. Don’t worry, once the plan is over the best thing to stop the progression and run the week 9 run until it’s comfortable... then you will be able to have an easy 30 minute runs... and they’re wonderful.

I’m always looking forward to the next run... I have enjoyed most runs since graduation, but I’d say I hated over 20 of the runs on the plan! That’s ok though... we can love the anticipation and love the feeling that we did it, and the love for that bit in the middle can grow very slowly.

Thank you. I have a few more runs to go b4 I enjoy it then haha

I don’t feel like I’m going fast. I feel I’m barely jogging but i find it hard to pace myself when I’m out on the road. But I guess I’ll get there x

Yeah, it’s a little bit of trial and error... I’ve been going through it again... my slow had got a minute a mile faster over the last few months... and now I’m trying to slow pack to my old pace for my long runs, which I partly achieved on Monday. As your fitness and endurance rises you’ll find more gears. You’re getting there... that’s the main thing. The run that really changed my affection for running was when I ran half an hour slowly with no sweat, no loss of breath and felt like I could go again... I also managed to run in a meditative state and had to check I’d actually run the second half 😂

That sounds amazing. I think I’m a long way off that yet. I’m still counting down the time til I can walk again haha so I defo don’t go into a zone just yet x

Oh yes it does get easier and you look forward to running as well as the great ‘after’ feeling. It’s a win win! Happy running.

Thank you. It’s hard to know what pace to go at. I don’t feel I’m going fast though. I feel I’m barely jogging at times. I’m managing 4.3km in half hour. That’s alright isn’t it?

The guide explains the recommended easy conversational pace, which will be different for every runner........ numbers are irrelevant.....read the guide.

I get what you are saying... I feel like that also. I just finished week 4 run 1 today and I really struggled. I’m just focusing on one run at a time and keeping tryst in the programme. I believe it will get easier. We got this 😀
