I completed week 5 run 3 a few weeks ago and was really chuffed at the end of the run that I'd done it but as soon as I'd stopped running my right knee wasn't happy.... spent rest of evening hobbling around. Up until this point all my runs had gone well. It took a week for the pain on the inside of my right knee to go and I took a further week off running before I felt able to attack week 6. Been doing knee excersises and I'm pleased to say I have cracked on with week 6 and finished it with no pain after the run ! Bring on week 7 😊 I have not been bothered about speed up until this point but my app says I am running at around 5.40 mins per Km. Does this sound an ok pace for a new runner ?
Still going ! Into Wk 7....: I completed week... - Couch to 5K

Glad your knee better. Pace ok? Looks like you’ve got rocket fuel attached to your trainers from where I’m standing!!!! I’ll leave proper runners to offer you advice— I’m one run off completing this but entirely novice Take care and happy running!
Well done.
You will probably have a susceptibility to injury in that knee from now on, so sticking with the strengthening exercises is a good idea, but also do all you can to minimise impact. Slow down, avoid heelstriking, keep footfall under your body not out in front, run on grass or treadmill and wear proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop.
The recommended pace for C25K is one at which you can speak aloud, clear ungasping sentences as you run, as described in the guide to the plan.healthunlocked.com/couchto5... That pace will be different for each individual, so numbers are irrelevant.
Really good pace! It all gets serious now. Look after the knee!👊💪
