Week5 Run1. Melted mess!!

I’m just completed w5r1 and can’t believe how good I feel. From week 1, this feels unbelievable!

Last week I was running whilst on a break in beautiful Lincolnshire and really felt myself improving. To prove it today I ran on my normal route (I run half way then turn round and run home) and ran so much further that ever before!

I’m worry but also looking forward to w5r3. At the moment I feel that anything is possible.

The only problem for me today was the heat. Considering my first run back in March was 3 degrees, 18 degrees today has been hard. I could feel myself getting dehydrated and wonder, does anyone use a camelbak to help with warmer weather?

Any recommendation would be great.

I’ve not used one so can’t say if it would be useful or not but I was a little confused after the first 10 minute run of run2 week6 when Michael suggested I ‘take a little water’ before starting the next run - the general consensus on the forum seems to be that taking water along during C25K isn’t really necessary!

Well done, you are doing great.

If your hydration is adequate in the 24 hours before a C25K session, then you should not normally need water during such a short workout.

What you drink during a 30 minute session is going to have very little effect on your performance.

I have a running backpack with bladder, but would not consider using it for any run under 10k. However, we are all different.

Make sure you replenish fluids immediately after a run.
