Giddy after W6R3

Im amazed that yesterday I managed to run my first 25 mins. Still on the treadmill. I attempted to do it outside at the weekend but failed miserably only managing 5 mins before having to walk. Decided to just walk, run, walk etc rather than give up completely. But yesterday attempted on the treadmill but by the time I got into the changing room I was feeling giddy for a while. Any advice on how to avoid this would be appreciated? It is making me apprehensive of the next 25 mins.

It may well take several runs to adjust to running outdoors, so lower your expectations and ease yourself into it.

As for giddiness, were you well hydrated? Had you eaten and slept normally in the previous 24hrs?

It was one run.

Everything else going on in your life can affect your running, so if you can identify the negatives and take the positives from every experience, then you can move forward better armed to face the next challenge.

You can do this.

Hydration could have been a factor as it was an early morning run before work and no breakfast beforehand. I find it easier to run without food in my belly but in hindsight I normally squeeze in a drink before but instead sipped water as running.

Good hydration means drinking 2-3 litres of water each and every day, not just before a run.

IannodaTruffe has suggested some reasons.. maybe because the outside run did not go to plan..tension or

apprehension?

Maybe the gym was just too warm..

Try outside again..gorgeous sunshine.. lots to see..so relaxed, slow and steady, take it all in?

Decided to start running outside from Week1Run1. I shall carry on in the gym with Week 7 and when I get the chance to go outside will follow the program and try to slowly increase. Thanks for the advice of lowering expectations. I still found it a challenge coping with the different terrain and slopes but feel a sense of achievement.
